The Naval Postgraduate School Department of Meteorology (NPS-Met) team aims to support the overall CLASI objectives through a multi-faceted approach, sampling the coastal atmospheric boundary layer over land and water using an array of fixed and mobile platforms. The goals of this approach is to understand the evolution of atmospheric surface flux and near-surface gradients across the coastal boundary; and how this impacts the electromagnetic properties of the coastal atmosphere.
